Changing the Face of Healthcare Scholarship
Cabarrus College of Health Sciences recently received a grant from the United Way of the Central Carolinas to increase the diversity of healthcare professionals in Cabarrus County. The grant will fund $1,000 and $2,000 scholarships for under-represented racial, ethnic and gender minorities in the healthcare field. Eligibility requirements for the scholarship include full-time residence in Cabarrus County, proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status, and acceptance to a clinical degree or diploma program at Cabarrus College. Priority will be given to applicants who are bilingual and to first generation college students.
To be considered for the scholarship, prospective students should submit an application for admission and all supporting materials by March 1 for the fall semester or October 1 for the spring semester. Students admitted to the College and awarded a scholarship will be notified before the start of the semester they intend to enroll.
