Certification Eligibility
The Medical Assistant diploma program is based on the accreditation standards and guidelines for an Accredited Educational Program for the Medical Assistant developed by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP). CAAHEP grants accreditation to qualifying allied health programs. The standards and guidelines are the minimum standards of quality used in accrediting programs that prepare individuals to enter the medical assisting profession. Cabarrus College of Health Sciences was initially accredited in April 2000 and in May 2009 was granted continued accreditation thru 2017. All graduates are eligible to sit for the American Association of Medical Assistants Certification Examination after the successful completion of the diploma portion of the program. |
