Program Requirements

For admission into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) program, applicants must meet admission criteria to the college and must:
- Present evidence of completion of a Registered Nurse Associate Degree or Diploma Program prior to beginning enrollment
- Submit an official transcript demonstrating evidence of high school or college level algebra I, algebra II, geometry, and a math course with algebra II as a prerequisite
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in all post-secondary coursework
- Present a current unencumbered and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in North Carolina or eligible to practice as an RN in North Carolina, before beginning classes
- Submit a written essay of 300-500 words describing: 1) your professional short and long term goals and 2) and how earning a degree from the RN-BSN program will help you achieve these goals (Note: this essay takes the place of the essay on the general college admission requirements)

If you do not currently have an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or diploma in nursing, then it is necessary to first complete a pre-licensure nursing program.
