You could say that Haley Love was "born" to be a nurse. Haley, an Associate Degree Nursing student, will soon be the eleventh member of her family to graduate from the nursing program at Cabarrus College. Haley's mother, Emily Troutman Love, a graduate of the class of 1988 and her grandmother, Shirley Readling Troutman, from the class of 1956, are both thrilled that Haley has chosen to follow in their (and other family members) footsteps.
Haley's love and dedication to Cabarrus College is practically endless. Not only does Haley spend much of her time studying and ensuring her academic success, she is also a tireless leader and advocate of the College and the nursing profession. Haley is currently President of the Student Government Association, President of the Cabarrus College Association of Nursing Students, Treasurer of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, a Student Ambassador, and District II Director of the North Carolina Association of Nursing Students.
After Haley graduates she will be traveling to New Zealand, Australia and China as an American Ambassador with the International Scholar Laureate Program. This program will allow her the unique opportunity to study and observe how nursing is practiced around the world. Haley's future plans include working as an oncology nurse. Down the road, she hopes to become a nurse practitioner, specializing in oncology.
