Information Resource Center (IRC)
Whether studying, researching, or simply looking for a quiet place to read, the College Information Resource Center provides an excellent atmosphere to support your academic experience.

The IRC is located on the lower level of the main campus building of CMC - NorthEast. When entering the building through the employee entrance, under the blue awning, take the stairwell to the right of the main hallway to the lower level. There is directional signage along the lower corridor indicating the way to the Information Resource Center.

If you are needing research assistance, please email Emily Patridge to set up a consultation. Emily Patridge, MLS, is the Information Resource Center Manager. She has been a medical librarian for ten years.

The IRC librarians look forward to working with you on your information needs. They can assist with literature searches, full text retrieval, accessing journals and databases, and other library services.

Hours of Operation
The IRC's normal operating hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The IRC can be accessed 24/7 your badge.

- AHEC Digital Library: a full-featured portal for North Carolina healthcare professionals providing access to journals, textbooks, and many other electronic resources. Access to this site requires a password. To get a password, please fill out this form.
- Cabarrus County Library: local library, another resource for electronic articles, journals, magazines, and books.
- Copyright Clearance Center: Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), the rights licensing expert, is a global rights broker for the world’s most sought-after books, journals, blogs, movies and more.
- Information Resource Center's Catalog Online: Find a book, journal, or other resource in the College Information Resource Center.
- Introduction to Health Services Research: A Self-Study Course: This e-learning course will introduce you to what health services research is, and to its key issues. The history of health services research and the people who have made it great as well as key players in producing and making health services research accessible to researchers, librarians and to the public are also discussed.
- IRC Online Orientation: Need assistance in researching? Use the IRC Online Orientation as a guide.
- PMC: PubMed Central ® (PMC) is a free archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM).
- PubMed comprises more than 23 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to full-text content froMedentral and publisher web sites.
- Purdue Online Writing Center (OWL) The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University houses writing resources and instructional material, and we provide these as a free service of the Writing Lab at Purdue. Students, members of the community, and users worldwide will find information to assist with many writing projects. Teachers and trainers may use this material for in-class and out-of-class instruction.
