Winter Graduation: December 16, 2014
Congratulations on making it to your last semester! We are excited to help you celebrate your academic achievements. Please read the information on this webpage and be sure to follow any steps listed below. Herff Jones (our graduation vendor) will also be sending you information in the mail. There are deadlines for ordering graduation materials so please be sure to pay close attention!

The Commencement Ceremony will be on Tuesday, December 16th at 6pm at First Baptist Church (200 Branchview Drive SE, Concord NC 28025). All graduates must also attend the Graduation Rehearsal from 10-11am on Tuesday, December 16th at First Baptist Church.

Mandatory Forms to Fill Out

Intent to Graduate Form (due March 14, 2014)
The Intent to Graduate Form is to be filled out the semester before the student's final semester (May graduates turned in this form on March 14).

Graduation Clearance Form (due on November 14, 2014 at 5pm)
All students will need to fill out a Graduation Clearance Form in the final months of their last semester. Forms can start being filled out on Monday, October 20 and are due on Friday, November 14.

Materials to Order through Herff Jones

Herff Jones sells Caps and Gowns, graduation announcements, pins, diploma frames and rings. Orders can be placed through www.herffjones.com/college/cchs.

Cap and Gown: Deadline November 15, 2014
Each graduate is responsible for purchasing their own cap and gown. All students must place their order no later than November 15, 2014 in order to receive your cap and gown in time for the commencement ceremony.

Baccalaureate students: You should receive a hood along with your cap and gown. Please contact Herff Jones if you do not receive this with your order.

Diploma and Associate Degree Students: You can use an old graduation cap and gown as long as it is completely black. Please call Deborah Forrest directly if you only need to purchase a tassel (704.962.1483).

Pins: Deadline October 31, 2014
Some graduates choose to order pins. This is optional.

To see a pin sample in person, please visit Cara Lursen in office 105.

You can order your pin through this website: www.herffjones.com/college/cchs. Pins need to be ordered by October 31, 2014 for guaranteed on time delivery to your home in time for graduation. Later orders will be processed at no extra charge but on time delivery cannot be guaranteed.

Graduation Tickets
We will not issue tickets to the December graduation. We ask that graduates be reasonable with the number of guests that they bring as the ceremony location has a limited number of seats.

Graduation Photography
A photographer will be available to take individual and group portraits before the ceremony. The photographer will also take pictures of each graduate as they cross the stage to get their diploma. More information will be sent to your Cabarrus College email accounts.

Honors
Cabarrus College values high academic achievement. Students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher will receive a gold honors stole at the Graduation Rehearsal Breakfast on Tuesday, December 16th. Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher will also receive an Excellentia pin at the breakfast. There is no cost to the student for the stole or pin.

Graduation Day Timeline
Tuesday, December 16, 2014
All events will take place at First Baptist Church (200 Branchview Drive SE, Concord NC 28025)

9-10am: Graduation Rehearsal Breakfast in the Fellowship Hall This breakfast is for graduates and faculty only. No guests, please. Casual dress is appropriate.

10-11am: Graduation Rehearsal in the Sanctuary Rehearsal is mandatory for all graduates if participating in the ceremony. If you are unable to attend, please email Cara Lursen (Cara.Lursen@cabarruscollege.edu).

3:30pm: Graduation Individual Pictures This is only if you are purchasing individual pictures.

4pm: All Graduates should be at the church We will have several dressing rooms in the church basement. The dressing room doors are not locked during the ceremony, so please do not leave any valuables in the rooms.

4:30pm: Group pictures will be taken The group pictures will be taken promptly at 4:30pm. We will be unable to include late graduates in this picture. Please be on time as this photo will be included on our alumni wall in the main lobby.

6pm: Graduation Ceremony Congratulations! You did it! The ceremony usually lasts between 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Graduation will start promptly at 6pm so please encourage your guests to arrive early.

Parking note: Please be sure that you tell your friends and family to park in the parking lot. Please do not park on the side of the road on Dill Road (the road that runs behind the church) as you may be towed. There will be a Police Officer directing traffic that can help find you somewhere to park if you need assistance.
