I had emergency surgery and was unable to attend clinical on my assigned day. Will this affect my grade?
Consult your course syllabus and/or program handbook for your instructor's attendance policy; also call or email your instructor to explain your situation. You may be required to submit a release form from your healthcare provider before returning to class or clinical.

I have been told I cannot return to school until my doctor fills out the Physical and Emotional Health Assessment form. Where do I get this form?
Download the Physical and Emotional Health Assessment form. Return the completed form to the Director of Student Affairs.

Students at Cabarrus College who need prompt medical attention that may not be met by their primary care physicians have 24-hour access to the Emergency Care Center at CMC-NorthEast and to Cabarrus Urgent Care from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm, seven days per week except during major holidays. Cabarrus Urgent Care is located at 888 Church Street North in Concord, 704-786-6122. You are responsible for any fees or charges for medical care or ancillary services.

CMC-NorthEast Health and Fitness Institute All full-time students receive a free membership to the CMC-NE Health and Fitness Institute. You must complete a health assessment prior to enrollment and pay a one time $20 enrollment fee. The Health and Fitness Institute is located on the lower level of the Charles A. LiveWell Carolinas! All students may participate in the LiveWell Carolinas! initiative at Cabarrus College. The mission of LiveWell is to create a culture of wellness on the campus, improve student health and reduce healthcare costs. Participants pledge to promote a culture of wellness at the college and to serve as good examples to classmates and others by making lifestyle choices that enable them to work, eat, learn and live well. During the academic year students may participate in the identified Steps to Success to earn points. Points may be redeemed at the end of the period for promotional rewards and drawings.

All students at Cabarrus College are required to have health insurance.

If you do not have health insurance, Cabarrus College offers the option to purchase affordable health insurance at a student group rate with various payment plans and coverage. While a student at Cabarrus College, it is your responsibility to maintain the following required immunizations:

-	DTP, or TD or Tdap
-	Polio (3 doses)
-	MMR (after first birthday); measles/rubella (MR) after first birthday; measles (2 doses after first birthday); mumps (2 doses); rubella; and Hepatitis B (3 doses). Please refer to the immunization guidelines available from the Office of Admissions for more specific information.

In addition, students in clinical courses at Cabarrus College are required to have:

-	Hepatitis B vaccine (3 doses)
-	Hepatitis A/B combination series
-	Varicella (chicken pox)

Two-Step TB Skin Test (Must be administered within six months of the first day of the semester for new students and updated annually).

Students enrolling in clinical programs should submit immunization records to CMC-NorthEast Employee Health. Students who have been accepted to Cabarrus College will be sent instructions on how to set up an appointment.

Students enrolling in non-clinical programs (such as Associate in Science and Health Services Leadership and Management) should submit immunization documentation to the Office of Admissions in Room 133.

Flu immunizations are provided as available. Flu immunizations are free of charge and provided by CMC-NorthEast each fall. The immunizations are usually provided at Cabarrus College. Information about the date and time for flu immunizations will be distributed to students a few weeks in advance of the event.
