Message from the Provost

Welcome to Cabarrus College of Health Sciences!

Meg Patchett, PhD On behalf of the faculty and staff, congratulations on your admission to the College. We are excited that you have chosen to pursue your educational goals with us and look forward to your arrival.

As we eagerly await your matriculation, our faculty and staff are making plans and creating activities to help you transition into College life. We ask that you complete one of these activities prior to the first day of classes.

Each year, we identify a book which we believe will help you, as an incoming student, better understand our College's values and some of the issues we see as pertinent to today's healthcare professionals. This year, we have chosen Josie's Story by Sorrel King. This easy to read book presents a powerful message about the importance of communication to patient safety. You may purchase the book at your local bookstore, retailer, or on the internet. You also may choose to purchase and view the Josey King Story dvd that is available online. As you complete this activity, we encourage you to consider how the author's message may affect your professional life as a trusted healthcare provider.

Again, we welcome you to the Cabarrus College family and we hope you enjoy reading this year's faculty selection, Josie's Story.
