In recognition of the importance of the student's holistic development,
student services, based on the mission and goals of the College,
are available to all students. These services are designed to enhance
the educational programs and to foster the cultural, social, moral,
intellectual and physical growth of students.
The overall goals of Student Services are to provide:
- a milieu that promotes the attainment of academic goals, lifelong
learning and continued professional growth;
- opportunities to assist students in becoming independent and
responsible for their own behaviors; and
- activities and support to assist students in developing to their
full potential as contributing members of society.
The College offers the services of a professionally prepared coordinator
who provides educational, personal and career counseling to students
and prospective students. The coordinator also provides consultation
services to parents and families of students in situations that require
an understanding of the students, their problems and the family's
role in helping. Each student is also assigned to an academic advisor
who assists the student with curriculum related problems. Additional
detail about each of the college services follows.
Student Health Services for Cabarrus College of Health Sciences
are available through NorthEast Medical Center and affiliates. Students
needing health services should follow the criteria as defined in
personal insurance policies or contact the carrier for specific instructions.
Students are encouraged to contact their private physician when possible.
Should a student develop an acute illness and need medical care while
in the clinical setting, the instructor, to ensure the safety of
patients and the student, may refer the student to Quick Care, an
urgent care facility under the auspices of NorthEast Medical Center
for evaluation. In other instances of illness or injury, students
have 24-hour access to the emergency department at NorthEast Medical
Center and also access to Quick Care from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. seven days
per week. Students are responsible for any fees or charges for medical
care.

The admissions coordinator and the student services coordinator
are qualified to administer and interpret a variety of tests. These
tests are administered and interpreted for students as the need arises
during the counseling process or as requested.
Students wishing to request accommodations due to a disability should
contact the chancellor's office for information. College administration
determines, on an individual basis, whether or not the necessary
accommodations or modifications can be reasonably made.
The student services office assists students in seeking employment
and/or in continuing their education. Programs and workshops are
offered for all students and individual assistance is also available
as needed. Cabarrus College of Health Sciences assists with the employment
search but does not guarantee placement.
